Chapter 0

Ever since I, the groom, was sold off like commodity to the bride’s family, I never expected to lead a normal life.

-Thud

“Where are you going?”

I never imagined that I would meet the bride, who, instead of being dressed in attire suited for the wedding night, was clad in dueling attire, brandishing a sword.

Ah, I should have anticipated this.

Despite having such a stunning appearance.

Not a title that highlights her looks.

But being called the Sword Demon, the Empire’s greatest swordswoman, feared by many, I should have expected at least this much when I married her.

“We need to settle the unfinished duel right here and now, so where are you off to?”

Not only is her face beautiful, but her voice is incredibly lovely as well.

Whoosh-!!

The chilling sound of the wind as she swung her sword reached my ears.

It narrowly missed my right ear, but I would have preferred to keep a reasonable distance and just listen to her lovely voice.

“I don’t have a hobby of dueling in the bedroom, you see.”

At this rate, even ten lives wouldn’t be enough to survive.

“I’ll sleep outside, so you can have this spacious room all to yourself.”

With these words, I threw myself towards the open window, rather than the door of the bridal chamber, successfully escaping.

The height from the window to the ground was considerable, but not unmanageable.

Without any fancy acrobatics, I landed cleanly.

“Is it a father’s job to blame his son for responsibilities arising from his own choices?”

And thus, I ended the first day of my marriage cursing the man who sold me off like commodity, my so-called father.
